The Bruce Porter Memorial Music Series for 2017-2018
Founded in 2011 by members of South Congregational Church, Granby’s new classical music series is devoted to honoring the life and work of Bruce Porter, and his contributions as an organist and director. We will present four events in the upcoming season, thanks to the support of the Granby Education Foundation and the generous donations received from those in the Farmington Valley community who have attended concerts at South Church for the past several years.

Sunday, December 3, 2017, 4pm-- Under the baton of their new Music Director, Brian Seemann, The New England Ringers are excited to present "Christmas With All the Bells and Whistles." New England Ringers, playing six full octaves of large and small handbells, will perform exciting arrangements of your favorite Christmas tunes, joined by organist Richard Bunbury. (After all, an organ really is just a big whistle!). Don't miss out as they pull out all the stops for this 2017 holiday concert season!

Friday, January 19, 2018, 7pm-- Jason Roberts, organist extraordinaire, accompanies three black-and-white silent film comedy shorts by Buster Keaton with his improvisational wizardry.

Sunday, April 22, 2018, 4pm--The Hartt Collegium Musicum, a near-professional level student Baroque Orchestra, under the direction of harpsichordist Kenneth Nott and violin virtuoso Emlyn Ngai, returns to the series for the fourth time.
