Adult Education

Adult Education

Adult Christian EducationIn the Bible, we see Jesus welcoming children but teaching adults. It is to this reality that South Church provides a variety of adult educational experiences to learners of all ages. Everything that the church does teaches and so worship, mission, education and service all support faith formation. However, South Church does offer additional programming that addresses themes or particular interests as they arise. The following list of current programs is by no means complete! We welcome any and all avenues for developing one's faith and finding meaning and direction in the life God provides.

Spiritual Vitality for Women

Guided by a book study on a spiritual theme, women gather twice a month to discover together meaningful ways to engage with the sacred in everyday life.  We help each other live with purpose and support each other in discerning how the Spirit is moving in our hearts and lives.  For more information contact Rev. Sandra Fischer, (860)653-7289.

The Power of Personal Storytelling ~ Everyone has a story!

This ongoing workshop asks participants to explore the stories of their lives and use them as a vehicle to better understand themselves as well as interact with others. Storytelling can bear much fruit in our spiritual lives, enhance communication and give added depth to leadership capacities. Conjuring up a good story brings with it some wonderful surprises.
