"The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” – Gandhi
The South Church Youth Service Group is open to youth of any faith, as well as those who are unaffiliated but come with questions about spirituality. There are no requirements for what you have to believe, as long as you have an open mind and curious heart. You do not have to be “perfect” to be a part of this group! All are welcome just as they are.
What's Youth Service Group? A place where individuals expand their faith, express ideas freely, help others in a variety of ways, grow personally and spiritually, interact in an accepting community, give and receive respect.
What sort of things does the group do? Service, fun, and more! For 2014/15 we are planning on serving others through: work with veterans, local hunger relief, a winter retreat looking at food insecurity in the U.S., a sleeping bag drive for the homeless, and a pumpkin patch to raise money for our annual mission / outreach trip. We ALSO plan to play games, celebrate holidays and rituals, discuss life's big questions, have adventures, do a ropes course, camp out, have many bonfires, go bowling, do the corn maze... and much, much more!
The new season kicks off on September 14, 2014 with a Kickoff BBQ and Parent Meeting. For more information, please contact Rev. Tamara Torres

We also encourage each 7th and 8th grader to participate in Confirmation. Confirmation is a two-year program, led by Rev. Tamara. You can start with either year. At the end of the program each youth will write a "Statement of Faith" to explore what they believe and how that belief shapes their life. Learn more about each session below.
